Assessment is central to learning: it shapes the learning experience yet is a critical and time-consuming function for teachers. Technology is seen as a solution to improve efficiencies while reducing teacher time. No matter its purpose, the use of technology in assessment must contribute positively to the quality of the learning experience first, and organizational effectiveness second.
